Heidelberg Lodges
15 08 2004
During the vacation, we stayed at Heidelberg Lodges located in New Braunfels, Texas, which is next to river, and Schlitterbahn Water Park. This resort is 1930s building – I am sure they have been restored over years but inside are way old. You probably will notice some of pictures at our gallery.
I want to make comment about this resort where I had to request that TV to be replace because it is not closed-captioned. They finally bring it in and exchange with no problem. Of course they doesn’t have TTY, fire alarm strobe and all that.
We used heavily on our T-Mobile Sierra Wireless PMCIA card on our laptop to make phone calls via Relay Service, keep in touch with emails and check local activities thru website. It’s great way to surf during the vacation.
During spare times, we do a lot of fishing and swimming at river by Heidelberg Lodges. It was nice way to walk from our lodge and do all this stuff nearby.
In case you wonder why we pick this place – it has to do with my wife’s side family where they used to hang out these same lodges 20+ years ago. We are doing it to bring up some memories for them.
Same time, we are celebrating our father-in-law Jess Carpenter that he made it thru since his brain surgery about six months ago. He just had his check up by his specialist right before come to this vacation; he is officially in remission at this point. We are very happy for him and everyone else.
