Firewheel Town Center

1 07 2005

Firewheel Town Center SignIt’s been almost 20 years since I moved to Garland, Texas area. I’ve enjoyed Garland and its surrounding cities for years. We purchased a house in this area as well.

What’s important to me is good shopping location – it is just convenience for me and my family to shopping whatever we need. We usually go to mall at Richardson Square Mall but they aren’t that great. We had to go different mall like Collin Creek Mall in Plano or Town East Mall in Mesquite. They have everything we need but it’s just little bit too far.

City of Garland has been struggling to get its own super center or mall for years. I don’t know why they were unable to get in the past but that’s not important. Recently, City of Garland mayor proudly announced last year that we are getting one after trying for 15 years.

Simon Property Group, Inc. broke ground on the Firewheel Town Center on February 26, 2004.  The one million square foot retail/entertainment/office center is scheduled to open in the fall of 2005. (October)  Firewheel Town Center is located at the intersection of State Highways 190 and 78 in north Garland. Also, George Bush highway (190) will begins next year however mall will complete by October 2005.

Major vendors:

  • Foley’s
  • AMC Theater (16 screens)

  • Linen’s & Things

  • More to come!

In the surrounding area is:

  • Best Buy
  • Bed, Bath & Beyond
  • More to come!

  • Macaroni Grill
  • Bone Daddy’s
  • TGI Friday’s

All list information provided by Michael Holden. It’s only approximately six miles away from my house. Its going be perfect for shopping center — no more driving to Plano or Mesquite. Super Wal-mart, Sam’s Club, Super Target, etc already established last year on next major street ext off highway 190.

This area is booming. I think it is great!

Firewheel Town Center Mall in GarlandI live in Garland, Texas, and there’s one thing this city has lacked is a big mall of it’s own. We’ve had to go to Plano, or to Dallas, or to Mesquite to hit a shopping mall. Garland hasn’t had…
