Inkjet printer inks
1 08 2005
For years, I’ve purchased different type of printers. For some reason, I kept replaced it for newer and better model. Most of the time, I usually get HP printer.
Few months ago, I have few old printers and I finally gave them away to Salvation Army. They may be good but still useless. (Bulkier and heavier) Right now, I have K80 multi-task printer for over two years and I am not happy with it. (alignment problem) I also have Canon i960 printer which primarily used for printing color photography.
I should have gotten laser printer long time ago but I kept getting inkjet printer because of cheaper and more features. Hopefully I will get it next time. I still have old TI laser printer but it doesn’t work correctly. I think it’s still good – just need repair but when? Who knows.
The reason I bring it up because I am really getting frustrated with ink cartridge costs these days. I really think its rip-off. I did try with different alternative such as inject ink, remanufactured cartridge, generic brand and others. They are usually did not work out after used for while. Based on experience, you are better off using brand inks regardless.
Last weekend, I purchased a HP brand black & trio-color ink combo for $45 and Canon brand six individuals color cartridge for $12 bucks each. The total is already over $100 – Ack!! I think individual color cartridge is best deal out there right now.
I remember one time when my friend and I shopped at Micro Center. A salesperson told us that they are giving away FREE HP printer (cheap type model) after rebate. Its worth $50.00 – first thing I did is look inside printer and see what kind inks they used. They used smaller cartridge and black/colors in one. I told him no thanks! They think anyone like us is too stupid to get free printer. Yeah right!
We still see many new and better printers out there and they are attractive such as Bluetooth, network supported, tiny LCD, multi-slot disk for memory card and more. Sigh….
