DHH DFW at Caves Lounge

Caves Lounge logoOne of my friend told me thru AIM that it’s going be interesting for DHH DFW event because of another activities in DFW area that Saturday. (11/19/05) To tell you the truth, I’ve never thought of “competitor” with another deaf-related event.

It is perfectly okay for other people to look at DHH DFW differently but no reason for them to tell me directly. I always think positive outlook and didn’t have anything to lose.

Last Saturday at Cave’s Lounge in Arlington, Texas went very well desperately the room is somewhat small than I expected. Lucky they have outdoor patio and it’s nice because inside can be hot for some people like me. Misty, Brenden and I arrived little late but it’s already crowded – approximately 200+ that night. I am very pleased.

Cave’s Lounge is very nice – they have handful couch unlike many another pub but the room is somewhat dark. Look like they only have two people running at bar – busy night for them.

DHH DFW at Caves LoungeNow, we are looking into very last DHH DFW 2005 event on New Year Eve at Dave & Buster at I-35 in Dallas. We are very exciting about it because it is our first time to host NYE for DHH DFW event. This is place where we all can have good times without worrying about chore/responsibility and keep things under control such as money or security.

Contact/Eyewear in Dallas

Contact Eyewear in Dallas

Last Thursday I went to see Dr. Warren Eisenstein for eye exam check up. This is my 2nd time to visit his office. They have moved into new office/store in Richardson, Texas. It’s very nice as you can see picture at their website.

Basically, I went to see him because he is on my insurance network list. It turned out he’s cool guy and very easy to understand him. In fact he made it enjoyment and made me laugh few times.

They also have wonderful staff – helped me find perfect new glasses. My favorite type of glasses is titanium – very strong yet flexibility. I am looking forward my new glasses next week hopefully before Thanksgiving holiday.

If you are looking for good place for eye exam and/or new glasses or contacts, check this place out!

T-Mobile vs. Suncom; Sidekick II stolen

14 11 2005

A month ago, my wife’s Sidekick II got stolen unfortunately.

To make story short, we decide to buy new Sidekick II thru eBay site because it’s expensive to get another one to maintain same account. All T-Mobile Sidekick are pricey at eBay but Suncom Sidekick wasn’t. Their ad claimed that we can convert Suncom into T-Mobile.

We are willing to gamble it — we won the bidding and paid little under $200 for it. We called T-Mobile almost daily for two weeks trying to get it unlocked and transfer to her old account. It was nothing but full of empty promise from T-Mobile Customer Service.

They finally said no way — they cannot convert it to T-Mobile. We gave it up and ordered another Sidekick II directly from T-Mobile. It cost us $300 with two year contract — what a rip off but we have no choice because we didn’t want to lose all email, address book and phone number.

Meantime, it took us another two weeks trying to retireve old emails and address book but we got phone number back. My wife ended up setup new TMAIL email address. As of today, desktop online still not functioning at all — we are still talking to customer service for it. This time, we communicated thru email — it’s easier this way.

We were able to returned Suncom Sidekick II and got full refund without any problem.

Bottom line, it’s not worth to go all this hassle just because our phone got stolen. It should have been easier way to get old account back.
