Be sure to watch the videos to learn how and when you can get a videophone as well as other important information. The VP-200 is just an other way that Sorenson Communications is Connecting You.
What is “beta” testing and who is selected to be involved?
Beta testing is a process in which an “unfinished” product is given to a limited amount of people to thoroughly test before it is officially released. The Sorenson VP-200 videophone has been given to a select group of beta users who are required to record and submit all concerns, improvements, and suggestions on a regular basis as they use the “beta” product.
The purpose of the beta testing period is to provide companies with feedback that will be used to fix any problems with the product. The “beta” testing process ensures that when the product is officially released our customers are satisfied.
Please note that there is no need to apply to become a beta tester. A limited number of deaf individuals have already been selected to be Sorenson VP-200 videophone “beta” users.
How do I get a Sorenson VP-200 videophone?
If you currently have a Sorenson VP-100 videophone, you are already on the waiting list to receive the new VP-200, so you do not need to apply again! Sorenson Communications will contact you when they have a VP-200 ready for you.
If you currently do not have a VP-100, you can apply for one at www.sorensonvrs.com.
Please remember that if you already have a VP-100 videophone you don’t need to apply again. By applying again, it will create confusion because Sorenson will have to sort through all the duplicate applications. It will also slow the shipping process down.
Sorenson Communications will contact you to install a VP-200 when it becomes available in your area. Keep in mind that the VP-200 is new, so it will take some time before everyone gets one.
When can I get a Sorenson VP-200 videophone?
Sorenson Communications has an installation plan. Due to high demand for the new VP-200, the company will not be able to install all the new VP-200 videophones at the same time.
Remember that the VP-200 is new and that Sorenson Communications wants to thoroughly test limited amounts of the new VP-200 videophone. The first videophones created by Sorenson Communications, the Sorenson VP-100 and the D-Link, followed the same process of testing to ensure that the videophones are tested thoroughly and the customer is satisfied.
Also, the VP-200 has new and exciting features that previous videophones do not have. Sorenson will make it a priority to train each individual how to use the new videophone at the time of installation. This extra training will take additional time. It is a possibility that the installation process will take two to three years. Although this process will take time, we hope that everyone will be patient and understanding.
If my VP-100 videophone breaks, will I receive a VP-200 videophone as a replacement?
Please remember that Sorenson Communications has an established installation plan. If your VP-100 happens to break and your home area is not in the process of receiving the VP-200, Sorenson will replace it with another VP-100. You will get the VP-200 when your area is ready for installation.
As Sorenson Communications installs new VP-200 videophones will they continue to install and support the VP-100?
Even with the new installations of the VP-200, Sorenson Communications will still continue to install and support the VP-100 videophone. Our goal is to install videophones so that all of our customers will always have access to the highest quality video relay service available—Sorenson VRS.

VP-200 looks nice! Like my VP-100, I will use other vrs providers because I reject Jim Sorenson’s conservative, out-of-touch homophobic views. Am curious how soon the vp-200 will arrive in Minnesota? I have vp-100 and I hate the idea of having the BRIGHT light shining in front of me me so vp relay and users can see me better but then it makes it harder for me to see them. It’s killing my eyes. So kindly, hurry.
add to my previous comment, was told that vp-200 has a night vision sensor that doesnt require bright light shining to your face. If true, would love to have that soon or else I’d go blind if arrive much later
