Grant,
Thanks for sharing your story. It’s really one of many parent fears for their children. We want to keep them safe, even if it embarrasses them. I commend you for standing up to communicate with hearing police and that boy’s father and setting the boundaries for your daughter and family. It was probably an innocent thing, but it was a wise thing to do anyway. Your daughter siad there were many more of those kinds of things that happen and you were lucky to catch that one. Sigh. It’s always that way, isn’t it? Kids get away with a lot. All we can do is try our best to keep them safe and be there for them when they mess up.

That reminds me of my daughter as well.. Me and my mom went somewhere, I can’t remember where, but we did.. Felipe was in my bedroom watching t.v. My daughter had 2 friends spending the night that nite… What was going on was that 2 friend’s brother and their friends, or cousin was standing outside talking to the girls inside, but talking via the window.. I know them, but I don’t let them talk to my daughter while we were not home.. They ran… Even that girls’ brother ran as well.. My sister said if they are not gulity and to check on the girls, why running? Wow!

That would definately make me raise my radar screen a bit. I dont blame you for taking a very close look at the guy and gettng in touch with the guys father as well. You did the right thing. Thank god my daughter is only 3 years old. But I know someday I will be in the exact same spot.
