Change Gear While Driving

6 08 2007

ASL Video - Approx 2:26 Minutes Long

Grant Laird Jr talked about change gear (manual or shift) while driving a vehicle. He explained that when he was young, he had to learn how to feel when to change gear — he often wondered if there’s better way around it. (Such as light on dashboard) All he know that it will wear out clutch or gear over times if you does it too many times. (maybe not) Also, he said it eat up a lot of gas as well.

Most Saturn cars have that light feature that you were talking about. Also, another way to know when to change gears is to watch the RPMs. I don’t drive stick, but I do remember someone telling me that with newer cars, it is almost impossible to feel the car’s motor bec the damn car is too new. So, it was suggested to figure out when to downshift or upshift the gears based on the RPMs.

P.S. Surprised that you didn’t use Revver! ;) Have you syndicated your Revver’s feed for iTunes yet?

Yeah, Revver is slow sometime. They finally approve it so I just change it from Google to Revver. Care to watch video again? Hehe…

I forgot about RPMs, you are right. This is another good way to monitor while driving.

I am not sure what you mean about iTunes? I dont use it so I don’t know. Haha…

You can check the iTunes link under my Revver Widget on my blog. If you have iTunes installed, the link will work. It will load all the vlogs and videos I have uploaded to my Revver into your iTunes podcast section! It’s really cool.

One of my friends loves his iPod so much, he uploaded my Revver feed to it. So he can watch my vlogs on his iPod! Cool, huh??
