He born and raise in Pittsburgh, PA. He moved to Texas when he is 11 years old. He resident in Dallas for over 30+ years. Grant have two young adult daughters. He work full-time at Texas Instruments as specialist. 

He has seven generations of deaf family heavily in Pennsylvania and Texas.
